President Hadi welcomed the ambassadors, pointing out that the federal region system that Yemen has recently approved would facilitate people access to services and meet their requirements.

He stressed that the potential new constitution and laws will detail working mechanisms of the federal regions and the central government, citing that Yemen will be a modern and developed country.

“This system will end sectarianism and combat corruption on the basis of sharing power, resources and responsibilities” Hadi added.

Hadi stressed the importance of supporting Yemen, particularly after the successful conclusion of the National Dialogue Conference, indicating that Yemen needs assistance to completely implement the GCC-brokered imitative and the two UN Resolutions 2014 and 2051.

Hadi reviewed a range of counter-terrorism and smuggling issues, urging the donor countries to fulfill their pledges towards Yemen committed last year.

He also said that the British Minister of State for International Development Alan Duncan and Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal are arranging for holding a conference of the Yemen Friend Group in next March in Riyadh with the aim of supporting outcomes of the NDC.
