“On behalf of the government and people of Yemen, I extend the deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to you and through you to the government and people of France and to the family of the French citizen who was the victim of a cowardly terrorist attack by terrorist elements in Sanaa yesterday,” the cable read.

“While we deplore and condemn in the strongest terms this heinous crime, which is against the values and principles of our Islamic religion and the virtuous ethics of our people, we affirm that Yemen’s security agencies will spare no effort to investigate and pursue the culprits involved in this crime and track them down until they are caught and brought to justice to receive the deterrent and just punishment,” Hadi said in the cable.

“To the extent that this crime reflects the ugly face of terrorists, it reflects at the same time the objectives of the terrorist elements, the enemies of life who have nothing in common with the teachings of the Islamic religion in any way. They are seeking to damage Yemen’s relations with sisterly and friendly countries, particularly the Republic of France, which has close and historical ties with our country.”

“We are confident that this terrorist attack will not affect the strong relations between our two countries, but rather it will enhance their growth and enhance the existing partnership between the two countries in the face of terrorism, which is threatening international peace and security.”
