In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basindwa, the Cabinet authorized head of General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning (GALSUP) in coordination with the Defense and Interior Ministers and Aden Governor to take the necessary actions to implement the committee’s recommendations, which included confiscating the large piece of lands distributed to 365 people, and leave them only 1000 square meters that is needed to build a private residence.

This decision applies to the rest of the people who are not mentioned in the committee’s list and have similar cases, the cabinet said.

It stressed that the land pieces decided to be given out to all civilian and military individuals as compensation would be distributed soon, in addition to transferring the previous lease contracts to ownership for lands in Aden province.

It also affirmed the distribution of the land pieces to 11,157 armed forces personnel registered during 1991 – 1994, as compensation for their lands seized after 1994 war, taking into consideration the space and location.
