Yemen to partake in 9th meeting of OIC Parliamentary Union in Tehran

A Yemeni parliamentary delegation headed on Monday to Iran to partake in the 9th meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Parliamentary Union to be held in Tehran during (February 14 to 19).مجلس الاعضاء

The Parliament’s Speaker and head of the delegation, Yahya al-Raei, told Saba that Yemen’s participation came at the invitation of Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council ,Dr. Ali Larijani, as Iran is the host country, and the invitation of Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç.

He pointed out that, during the meeting, the working bodies of the PUIC will be elected and discussing the report of the Secretary-General on the activities of the Union during the period between the two meetings, as well as listening to speeches of the heads of delegations.

Yemen’s speech in the meeting would deal with the developments of situation in Yemen, including the political settlement ,the peaceful transition f power and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference ,as well as the position towards the current issues at the regional, Arab, Islamic and international arena, al-Raei explained.

He noted that the meeting would come out with a number of resolutions and important recommendations that reflects the concerns of the Arab and Islamic nation at the present time and its positions about the events of common interest.

On the sidelines of the meeting, al-Raei said that he would hold meetings with heads of the participating delegations to exchange points of view on the topics to be discussed in the meeting and on aspects of enhancing and widening the parliamentary relations between Yemen and the participating countries.
