President Hadi meets with Canadian official

President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi met on Monday with the Director General of the Middle East and Morocco Affairs at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, President Hadi said that the Yemeni-Canadian relations are good and historical. He also briefed the Canadian official on a number of issues related to the tasks of the transition process in accordance with the requirements of the GCC-brokered initiative, the UN Security Council Resolutions No. 2014 and 2051 and the comprehensive national dialogue conference, that came up with a national document outlining the future of Yemen based on a federal system.

Hadi said that the next phase will be good through the good governance, sharing responsibility, wealth and power, and a modern administrative system which is close to the aspirations of the Yemeni people, stressing that the page of the past will be closed forever, and a new page will be opened in the history of Yemen.

The President also talked over issues related to youth, unemployment and economic affairs, calling on the Canadian company Nixon to return to work in the oil field and it will be given the necessary privileges, praising the company’s expertise and capabilities.

He called on the Canadian companies to invest in Yemen in various fields, mentioning that the Friends of Yemen conference will be held this month in the Saudi capital Riyadh, calling on the Canadian government to attend the conference.

For his part, the Canadian official conveyed the greetings of the Canadian government to President Hadi.
He stressed that Canada’s support to Yemen will increase at various levels.

“Mr. President, we are proud of you because you have encountered significant challenges and succeeded in getting out with a vision that Yemeni people are looking forward to it”, the Canadian official said.

He affirmed that he is going to transfer all the topics that President Hadi talked about and others related to develop the Yemeni-Canadian relations to the Canadian government.
