The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Yemen, Jamal Benomar, concluded a two-day visit to Riyadh on Tuesday.
He met with Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Foreign Minister Prince Saud Bin Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Minister of Interior Prince Muhammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The meetings provided an opportunity for Mr. Benomar to discuss continued cooperation between the United Nations, Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to support the political transition process in Yemen, including the implementation of the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.
Mr. Benomar commended the role of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in providing wide-ranging support to enable Yemen to conclude its political transition in accordance with the GCC Initiative and Implementation Mechanism, and Security Council resolutions 2014 (2011), 2051 (2012) and 2140 (2014).
