President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Thursday a delegation of Russian Defense Ministry led by Director General of the Department of Military Cooperation for the Middle East and North Africa in the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Yurchenko.
After he welcoming the delegation he reviewed the bilateral relations between Yemen and Federation of Russia, saying it is a strong and historic relations. He noted also to the cooperation relations in the military fields.
“Yemen and Russia reflect the old relations between the two friendly countries before the unification and Soviet Union and this relation is continued today between Yemen and Federation of Russia,” Hadi said.
Hadi confirmed that the relations is very old between the two countries in various fields and today it is a new relations based on the cooperation in different military fields which includes the training and other fields.
He indicated to his relations with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, praising all efforts made by Russia along with the five permanent members during the crisis erupted in 2011 in Yemen.
“Yemen is still in need to assistance to move out of its crisis based on the NDC outcomes,” Hadi mentioned.
He stressed the importance of activating the previous agreements between Yemen and Russia in deferent fields, welcoming the Russian investments in the fields of oil and gas in particular in addition to various fields.
