Yemen and the United Nations discussed here on Tuesday the technical and fiscal support to the Supreme Commission For Elections & Referendum (SCER) during the voter registration phase.
Head of the Commission Judge Mohammed Hussein al-Hakemi, during his meeting with the UN resident coordinator in Sana’a Paolo Lembo and the UNDP’s Country Director Mikiko Tanaka, considered the United Nations an important partner for the SCER in all the electoral stages.
In the meeting, Judge al-Hakemi confirmed that the commission is keen to strengthen the level of cooperation with the UNDP in the future. He said,”We are ready to hear any opinion serves the electoral process.”
Al-Hakemi praised the efforts made by the UNDP in order to mobilize support for the project of the electronic electoral register, looking forward to the continuation of support in this aspect.
