President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Sunday the Director of National Democratic Institute (NDI) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Leslie Campbell.
At the meeting, President Hadi praised the role of the institute in raising awareness and promoting the concepts of democracy and providing technical support to Yemen in the fields of elections.
The President indicated to steps Yemen has achieved in the path of implementing the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, including the formation of the Constitution Drafting Committee, which currently is drafting the country’s new constitution, as a constitution of Yemen’s modern and civil state based on participation, equality, and good governance.
For his part, Campbell expressed his pleasure on the progress being made in the framework of implementing the political settlement in the country in accordance with the GCC-brokered deal, praising all efforts made by President Hadi in this regard.
He confirmed the readiness of the Institute to provide Yemen with suitable support in various fields.
