President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Friday evening a phone call from the UK Sec. of State for Intl. Development Alan Duncan, who condemned violence in northern Yemen.
Duncan confirmed his country’s support to Yemen at various levels to implement the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which were agreed upon by all political and societal powers in the country.
Duncan hailed the efforts of President Hadi and his firm determination to implement the NDC’s outcomes.
He said that the UK supported and is still supporting the efforts of President Hadi in UNSC, EU and IMF to implement economic reforms to enhance the state public budget in order to serve the interests of Yemeni people.
The UK official expressed his country’s condemnation towards the violence occurred recently in Amran province, condemning also the acts of armed groups, which aimed to undermining the security and stability in the country and impeding the NDC outcomes.
He said that the international community and the UNSC are watching all these moves and supporting the efforts of President Hadi in order to make the transitional phase a success, adding we will not allow any group to undermine the political process in the country.
President Hadi expressed his great thanks to the UK government for its support to Yemen and its political process based on the GCC brokered deal, affirming his determination to overcome all challenges and obstacles that face Yemen.
