US firmly supports Yemen to face challenges: NSC Spokesperson

The United States will stand firmly behind the Yemeni government in confronting challenges to progress in the peaceful transition process, the US National Security Council (NSC) spokeswoman said on Sunday.
Caitlin Hayden’s statement came to comment on the visit of U.S. Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Lisa Monaco to Yemen.

Ms. Monaco’s visit aimed “to underscore the United States’ enduring support for President Hadi and the people of Yemen as they pursue peace, stability, and prosperity through the country’s historic political transition and economic reform process,” Hayden said.

Al-Zayani: Escalation in Sana’a may impede political process

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Latif Al-Zayani warned on Sunday against the continuation of the current escalation in the capital Sana’a which could hinder the political process in Yemen.
In a statement to Saba, he called on all political powers and components of the
Yemeni society to stick to the implementation of the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference (NDC) and to actively contribute to creating suitable atmospheres to finalize implementation of the 3rd phase of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism.

“The EU strongly condemns the violence in and around the city of Amran in recent days,
where Ansarullah, Islahi, Salafi and other armed groups and Army units are fighting. We
deplore the casualties, in particular among civilians, and urge all parties to abide by the
existing ceasefire agreements, notably the ceasefire agreement of 22nd June, and to allow

UN Security Council Urges Houthis to withdraw from Amran

Members of the Security Council has expressed their grave concern about the serious deterioration of the security situation in Yemen in the light of the ongoing violence in Amran, and expressed their deep regret at the high number of casualties caused by the violence.

AL holds Houthis responsible for violence in Amran

The Arab League on Thursday held group responsible for the violations committed against Yemeni citizens in Amran province.

It also stressed the importance of the withdrawal of Houthis and others armed groups from Amran province to allow medical relief and local and international humanitarian teams to reach the province.
