Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa discussed here on Sunday with UN Envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar the latest developments on the national arena.
Basindwa and Benomar reviewed in particular the ongoing efforts to succeed and carry out the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), and the regional and international required assistances in this regard.
They also addressed the desperate attempts by some parties to thwart the political settlement and the change sought by the Yemeni people, including the criminal and terrorist attacks aimed at destabilizing security and stability of Yemen and deterring the NDC’s success.
The Premier stressed that the terrorist attacks will strengthen the Yemeni people’s determination to continue the march of comprehensive change and the success of the underway transitional stage.
He commended the active role played by the UN Envoy to Yemen and efforts to overcome any differences, valuing the role of the regional and international community in support of Yemen to move forward in completing the transitional stage and succeeding the national dialogue.
Benomar reiterated the commitment of the UN, regional and international communities to the success of the political process in Yemen in accordance with the Gulf initiative and the UN Security Council resolutions 2014 and 2051, expressing confidence that the Yemenis will work hand in hand to the success of the national dialogue and put the supreme interest of their country first.
