Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi met on Thursday with chargé d’affaires of the British embassy in Yemen Alison Kemp to review cooperation relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them.
They also discussed proposals of activating effectively the mechanism of meetings of Friends of Yemen to meet the requirements of the next stage, especially after the successful completion of the national dialogue conference.
Al-Qirbi also talked with the British diplomat over the ongoing preparations for holding the 7th ministerial meeting of Friends of Yemen in the British capital London in April.
Their meeting also dealt with the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2140 on Yemen, which was approved on Wednesday.
Yemen appreciated the efforts made by the Gulf Cooperation Council and the permanent five members of the UN Security Council to help it overcome the political challenges and implement the GCC-brokered initiative and its executive mechanism.
