Foreign Minister Dr. Abu Bakr al-Qirbi met on Tuesday with the French ambassador to Yemen Franck Gellet .
The meeting touched on the terrorist incident that targeted two French nationals working for the European Union Mission in Sana’a yesterday and led to the killing of one and wounding the other, as well as the ongoing efforts by the Interior Ministry to track down the perpetrators and bring them to trial.
Dr. al-Qirbi reiterated the Yemeni government’s condemnation of this terrorist operation, which comes in conjunction with the military campaign carried out by the armed forces against al-Qaida.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed his condolences to the French government and the victims’ families, wishing speedy recovery for the injured who is receiving treatment in a hospital in Yemen.
For his part, the French ambassador expressed his thanks to the efforts of the Yemeni government and its rapid response in dealing with the incident, confirming that these attacks would not affect the bilateral relations between the two countries.
