Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Hameed al-Awadhi received here on Monday a letter from Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
The letter handed over by Iranian charge d’affaires Murtaza Abdeen dealt with activating the political consultative committee between Yemen and Iran agreed upon by the two sides lately.
During the meeting, al-Awadhi and Abdeen reviewed the talks on improving the Yemeni-Iranian relations held by Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi with Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the 17th Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) concluded recently in Algeria.
Abdeen expressed appreciation of the Yemeni government interest and effective response to the Iranian proposals.
