Yemen partakes in UN-ESCWA meeting in Beirut

Yemen participates in the High Level Meeting and workshop: Following the Successful Conclusion of Yemen National Dialogue organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) in the Lebanese capital, Beirut , from 11 to 12 June, 2014.

Minister of Human Rights Houriah Mashhour said that the meeting would include number of ministers from Arab and African countries along with Yemeni ministers and members from the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The meeting will discuss issues of common concern from the political, economic, social, human rights and freedoms’ levels in addition to other subjects concerning the international community.

She pointed out that the meeting aims to present the Yemeni NDC as a regional case study to face the multifaceted challenges during the political transition process in order to discuss steps necessary to achieve and implement the NDC’s outputs and exchange the Arab and international experience.

At the meeting’s sidelines, a workshop on the NDC will be held for it drew the attention of Arab and foreign countries for its success and reaching positive results in spite of the many difficulties faced the country, she added.
