AL holds Houthis responsible for violence in Amran

The Arab League on Thursday held group responsible for the violations committed against Yemeni citizens in Amran province.

It also stressed the importance of the withdrawal of Houthis and others armed groups from Amran province to allow medical relief and local and international humanitarian teams to reach the province.

In a statement issued by the Arab League, Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby who strongly condemned the repercussions of the Houthi armed group’s capture of a number of governmental and military headquarters in Amran province, in a clear and ongoing violation of the cease-fire deals.

He demanded the armed groups to hand over the heavy and medium weapons they have seized from the Yemeni government’s camps.

Elaraby confirmed the solidarity of AL with the exerted efforts carried out by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to address the deteriorating situation in Yemen and restoring security and stability.

He called on all parties in Yemen to support the President’s efforts to carry out the outcomes of the national dialogue conference (NDC).
